Set in the southern rim of the vast Laurentian Mountains is an exciting hunting and adventure opportunity. Laurentian Wildlife Estate is indeed a`sportsman’s paradise’, being home to some of the most thrilling hunting North America has to offer. Laurentian Wildlife Estate’s three large preserves, (the`valley preserve’, the `mountain preserve’ and the `forest preserve’) are home to Manitoban Elk, Rocky Mountain Elk and the European Red Stag.
It all started with a Vision!
Laurentian Wildlife Estates was born from the vision of two men from New Zealand. Sir Tim Wallis and Dr. Mike Bringans searched the wilds of North America for the ideal habitat to pursue both Manitoba Elk and Red Deer. It was in the Laurentian Mountains, near Mont Tremblant, where such a locale was discovered.
Sir Tim pioneered the helicopter harvest of Red Deer and Wapiti from helicopters in New Zealand, when the population of wild deer had reached epidemic proportions. Tim was knighted by the Queen of England for his services to the country.
Dr. Mike Bringans, world renowned expert on genetics has worked internationally on Whitetail, Elk and Red Deer, for over 20 years. Mike's clientele have included private and government herds in Russia, China, Croatia, England, Spain, N.Z., Australia, Canada, USA, South Africa, Poland, Chili and Korea.
Sir Tim Wallis and Dr. Mike Bringans, both experts in their respective fields, combined their knowledge to make Laurentian what it is today. The breeding herd at Laurentian is unmatched anywhere in the world. Standing with both the World Record Elk and World Record Red Stag, Laurentian has proven its genetic lines in these two species are superior. Each year, as the herd continues to grow and the intensive management continues, Laurentian is sure to knock itself off the top spot, with more new records to come.
