In 2010-2011, the Estate went through a makeover of note. The main lodge received both exterior and interior face-lifts, with room dressings, upgraded amenities and the creation of a formal dining room. Further, a nearly 1,000 square foot great room, with cathedral ceilings was built for our guests, with oversized fireplace, HDTV, slate bar and billiards table. A traditional indoor fireplace as well as "African-style" outdoor fire pit allow guests two new areas to exchange stories, enjoy an after dinner cordial and unwind following the days activities.
The meals offered to all guests are of the same rich, epicurean style. Due to our early departure for the woods, continental breakfast seems to provide the best predawn meal. Upon return from the morning chase, a hearty and savory brunch awaits. A light lunch and snacks are served as a precursor the afternoon hunt.
Following a full day of adventure, the dinner selections are sure to satisfy the most discerning palate. The multi-course, culinary feasts include a myriad of locale fare and often embrace the spoils of the day, with venison served in a range of dishes. All beverages are included, with top-shelf liquor, a selection of domestic and foreign beers, as well as international wine selections.
The lodge is available to guests in the Spring of the year for Bear and Bison hunting, as well as during summer months for some of the fishing for which Canada is so famous. In the winter, the lodge may be rented by the week as a private skiing retreat or as a point of departure for snowmobiling.
